Ahead of the upcoming launch of Musubi A/R at the end of April, we are kicking off a three-part series that takes a closer look at the service — from its core concept to how it can be used in practice.
In this first installment, we explore the idea behind mobility RWA, why we built it, the real-world challenges that led to its development, and the three core values that make Musubi A/R unique.
◼︎What Is Mobility RWA?
RWA, or real-world assets, refers to the process of bringing real-world assets — such as real estate, receivables, or other income-generating assets — onto the blockchain. The mobility RWA introduced by MVL applies this concept specifically to the mobility sector.
More specifically, it refers to the tokenization of future payment claims and revenue rights generated through vehicle lease contracts and similar arrangements involving vehicles operating in emerging markets such as Cambodia.
Under traditional financial systems, the hard work and proven performance of drivers in emerging markets have rarely been recognized as investable value beyond local borders. Through blockchain technology, we aim to capture this value created on the ground and redefine it as a transparent, accessible asset.
In doing so, we seek to open up a new model of financial inclusion — one that allows people around the world to participate in real economic activity that has long remained overlooked.
◼︎Why Musubi A/R Matters Now
Musubi A/R was developed in response to the structural limitations of existing financial systems.
Although digital finance has spread rapidly across emerging markets, many people still remain underserved by traditional financial institutions, often due to limited banking access or inadequate financial infrastructure.
On the ground, there are many drivers and operators with strong earning potential, but limited access to funding for vehicle acquisition or business expansion. At the same time, in more mature markets, demand is growing for transparent opportunities tied to the real economy.
Musubi A/R is designed to directly connect these two needs through blockchain technology.
◼︎Three Core Values of Musubi A/R
1. Value Backed by Real Economic Activity
The value behind Musubi A/R comes from real-world businesses that the MVL Group has built and operated globally over nearly eight years since its founding in 2018.These include TADA, a ride-hailing platform operating in six countries with Singapore as a key market, and ONiON Mobility, which develops and sells electric mobility vehicles while also operating charging infrastructure in Cambodia.
In other words, Musubi A/R is not built on abstract narratives, but on productive activity rooted in everyday mobility demand.
2. Transparent Asset Management on the Blockchain
From asset information and operating status to redemption, the full lifecycle of the asset is recorded onchain.
Because every transaction is stored in a tamper-resistant and unified way, participants can verify asset conditions and related activity in real time. This is particularly meaningful in cross-border asset management, where information asymmetry and limited visibility have traditionally been major barriers.
By increasing transparency, Musubi A/R helps reduce the risks of human error and misconduct, while enabling a more reliable and verifiable asset management framework.
3. Borderless Access
Historically, income opportunities tied to growth markets in emerging economies have been accessible only to local financial institutions or a limited number of institutional investors.
Musubi A/R uses Web3 technology to lower these barriers. Through USDC, anyone in the world can gain access to these opportunities starting from just $10, regardless of location.
This creates a new way for a broader range of participants to engage with the value being created in high-growth markets.
◼︎Looking Ahead to the April 24 Launch
At the heart of the mobility RWA platform Musubi are the individual drivers who keep vehicles on the road every day, supporting local transportation networks and regional economies.
Through blockchain technology, we are building a framework that gives proper recognition to the value created in the field — value that has often gone unseen — and makes it possible for people around the world to participate in that growth.
As the official launch on April 24 approaches, we continue to make steady progress in preparing Musubi A/R for release. In Vol.2, we will take a closer look at Musubi A/R’s autonomous risk-hedging structure, including how credit risk is isolated through third-party pre-deposited assets, as well as the strict asset protection mechanisms enabled by smart contracts.
We hope you will continue to follow Musubi A/R on this journey.
Pre-registration is currently open on the official Musubi website for those who would like to receive a notification on launch day. For the latest updates, please also follow MVL’s official X account.
