Hello, this is the MVL team.
To inform MVL holders and the community more about the MVL team and our TADA service,
we are sharing a series called <Embracing a Globalizing World with MVL> once a week.
This week, we will focus on “The TADA Service in Vietnam and its Features”.
If you want to know how different the traffic is in Vietnamese and how TADA is localizing and operating its service in Vietnam, please pay attention!
1. Traffic in Vietnam: Motorcycles over taxis?
Vietnam is a country where motorcycles are way more popularized than Korea.
The number of motorcycles in Vietnam is estimated to be about 50 million. That's three out of four Vietnamese citizens over the age of 18 who can own a motorcycle. Considering that the number of motorcycles in Korea is about 3 million, we can see that motorcycles are much more common in Vietnam.
Some pictures are shared below to show you how it is really like!

(Look under the driver's feet)
There are a lot more motorcycles on the street than you thought right?
You can even see people driving a motorcycle with their pets.
It looks quite dangerous, but in Vietnam, motorcycles are one of the main forms of transportation.
In order for TADA to be well localized in this environment,
we are currently offering motorcycle services on top of taxis in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam!

If you compare and set the same distance at the same time on TADA app,
You can see that the motorcycle trip is half the price of a taxi ride.
It's certainly not as pleasant as a taxi, but from an economic point of view, it's not a bad choice to get from one place to another in Vietnam!
In Korea, it could be new to request a motorcycle for a ride but in Vietnam, it is just another day!
2. MVL and Lotte Rent-A-Car

It is true that you can get a Lotte Rent-A-Car when you requested a ride from TADA?!?
What is the relationship between TADA and Lotte Rent-A-Car?
Lotte Rent-A-Car is, as you know, the No.1 car rental company in Asia.
In Vietnam, after starting a corporation in 2008,
they expanded their business to Hanoi and Da Nang.
They currently have over 200,000 registered vehicles in Vietnam.

Lotte Rent-A-Car and MVL signed an MOU in November last year to enter the ride-hailing market in Vietnam.
It is a collaboration that involves Lotte Rent-A-Car providing hired drivers and vehicles while MVL provides the TADA platform.
Through this collaboration, the drivers hired by Lotte Rent-A-Car have been registered onto the TADA platform, increasing the driver pool.
In brief, some TADA drivers are driving vehicles from Lotte Rent-A-Car!
3. What is the SD Program?
SD is the most important program in cooperation with Lotte Rent-A-Car. It is a system that allows drivers to be automatically matched with riders so that drivers are unable to cancel the riders’ rides.
On the rider’s side, nothing hurts as much as being refused of a ride. In Vietnam, SD has helped to reduce ride refusals and it has allowed drivers to operate more efficiently on TADA!

Even when a driver is already on a trip as shown above,
if there is no vacant cars nearby, the SD program will match a driver who is about to complete a ride with that rider.
This means that the rider will be matched with a driver more quickly. It is “killing two birds with one stone”! :)
This allows MVL to provide a more stable service.
TADA’s matching rate has increased thanks to this special program.

In addition, MVL periodically communicates with drivers to ensure the successful settlement of the SD program. For example, on July 19th, we held a training session for drivers enrolled in the SD program.
This session was held at the TADA office.
The drivers were educated on the concept of the SD program and how to use it, etc.
4. Epilogue of Week 2
After reading our post above…
Aren’t you curious about how the Lotte Rent-A-Car drivers feel about the SD program?
Also, wouldn’t you want to see how the TADA Vietnam employees work in the Vietnam office?
In this series of <MVL, Vietnam, and Lotte Rent-A-Car>, we outlined the characteristics of the MVL TADA Vietnam service.
If you are curious for more, stay tuned as we will share an interview with drivers as well as an MVL teammate in Vietnam.
Be sure to check out our series next week!
Thank you.
Best,
MVL team
